Attacks on Medicare and Social Security are coming from all around us.

Senator Rick Scott, the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, released a platform for this year’s Senate candidates… and it’s a doozy.

In addition to calling for raising taxes on the poorest half of the country, he proposed a dangerous process that calls for ALL legislation, including Social Security and Medicare, to expire after 5 years. That means every federal program would be subject to an ugly reauthorization fight twice a decade, and Republicans could hold Social Security and Medicare hostage.

But shockingly, the only threats aren’t from Republicans. Liz Fowler, a former Pharma executive embedded in the Biden administration, has embraced a Trump-era experiment to partially privatize traditional Medicare. Social Security Works has already collected thousands of signatures demanding that Biden fire Fowler.
