two trafficking convictions in Ghana. Two suspects pleaded guilty to human trafficking, carrying a five-year prison sentence. One of the convicted suspects who had used the children for labor on his fishing boat will also have to pay a fine, or spend an additional year in prison if unable to pay. While IJM has previously seen convictions for child labor in its cases in Ghana, these convictions are IJM Ghana's first human trafficking convictions, and a significant step toward ending slavery in the Lake Volta fishing industry.
Latin America
- Pray for no delays in IJM Bolivia's court cases. The constant suspension of court hearings continues to present a serious impediment to achieving justice for survivors. Please pray for the endurance of our lawyers and for peace for survivors waiting for justice.South Asia
- Please pray for our senior leaders in South Asia working on a multi-year strategy to enhance and expand our anti-trafficking programs. These sessions will help us set a clear vision for how we will rescue thousands from sex trafficking and bonded labor slavery, how we'll help the government improve their response and how we'll bring new partners into the fight. Pray for great collaboration and energy during these important meetings, and that our team could at all times remain focused on the children, women and men waiting for rescue even now.

- Praise God for Cassie's* opportunity to speak at MOMCon this fall. Cassie, a survivor of sex trafficking, spoke at an annual gathering of Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) earlier this year, sharing her life's story of rescue and freedom with over 2,000 moms. We are very grateful for her willingness to share her story, and for the 200 mothers who became Freedom Partners to join Cassie in the fight to end cybersex trafficking.

- Praise God for survivors who are leading the justice movement in their communities and around the world. In particular, please pray for several survivors who are preparing to share their stories at events this winter. Please ask God to pour out creativity and joy on these survivor leaders, and ask God to grant IJM wisdom as we support these survivors in the process of sharing their stories.
