STUNNING.
That's the only word I can use to describe what happened today in West Virginia.
Earlier this morning, the state House passed the Convention of States Resolution on an overwhelming -- and bipartisan! -- 77-19-4 vote.
Then, less than one hour later, the state Senate passed the Resolution on a voice vote, making West Virginia the 18th state in history to pass the Convention of States Resolution!
"Today we made history," said West Virginia Delegate Del. Chris Pritt. "The West Virginia House of Delegates sent a clear message that an ever-expanding federal government is unacceptable."
I couldn't agree more.
Never before has a state passed the Convention of States Resolution so quickly or so overwhelmingly. Both Republicans and Democrats voted in favor of the Resolution, and their decision is proof positive that momentum is building for the Convention of States movement.
Most of the credit, as always, goes to our amazing team of volunteers in West Virginia.
Those patriots have worked tirelessly over the last several years to pass the Convention of States Resolution. They faced setbacks, especially in the House, but they never gave up.
Their relentless commitment to liberty should inspire the entire country. These patriots understand that only a Convention of States can stop the runaway train in Washington, and their hard work and determination put our country one step closer to liberty.
Will you join them?
Momentum is on our side. As our team celebrates West Virginia’s bold move to save the nation, we turn our eyes to the legislators in South Carolina, who are expected to be the next state to take up the Resolution.
If they follow in West Virginia's footsteps, they will become state #19 to join the call.
Now is the time to double-down for freedom. Will you help throw gasoline on our momentum by chipping in whatever you can today?
