We’ve been making crucial progress together – and it doesn’t stop here, friend.

It’s been more than 100 years since the first woman was elected to the House of Commons, and since then, hundreds of Canadian women have put up their hand to run.

The Liberal Party of Canada’s

Invite Her to Run initiative helped encourage several women to run for the Liberal Party in 2015, 2019 and 2021. And 2021 was a record-breaking year for women elected to the House of Commons!

For the first time ever, more than 100 women were elected to serve their communities – 103 to be exact. Among them were many inspiring first-time Liberal MPs like Pascale St-Onge, Arielle Kayabaga, and Rechie Valdez (and more!), who are using their voices to stand up for the priorities that matter most to Canadians.

While we’re making incredible progress together, research suggests that a woman is 50% less likely than a man to consider herself a potential candidate for elected office.

There’s so much more to do to build a Canada that is more equal and fairer for everyone.

That’s why the Judy LaMarsh Fund helps support campaigns for Liberal women candidates who put up their hand to run on their road to Election Day.

Named in honour of Judy LaMarsh, the first Liberal woman in Canada to serve in cabinet, the fund is dedicated to helping ensure women candidates run strong campaigns all across Canada. This Women’s History Month, if you’re able, please consider making a contribution to support the fund and help elect more women as Liberal MPs.

Chip in now to support the Judy LaMarsh Fund and elect more women to the House of Commons:
