I almost couldn't believe it, john.

When Archie showed me the birthday card with all of your signatures it almost blew me away.

Sure, I’ve seen this grassroots team step up time and again for countless issues, signing petitions and sending your much-needed donations to support us and many of my colleagues facing tough races this year.

But it’s another thing entirely to see so many of you take time out of your day to give me a personal boost. And let me tell you, that birthday card sure did.

There’s no question that it’s been a busy time in the Senate, and I hadn’t had much time to make plans or even think about what I should do to celebrate.

Thanks for helping make today so special.

I also want to thank my husband, Archie, for always being so thoughtful — even when it can be nerve-wracking signing an email to thousands of people (trust me, I know the feeling, and you get used to it after a while).

I just wanted to reach out to tell you how much I appreciate you, and every member of this people-powered team. Thanks again.
