For four years I fought to protect Marylanders from the poisonous policies of the Trump Administration, including their attempt to take health care away from millions of Americans by repealing the Affordable Care Act.

Then, with President Biden in office, I was proud to help pass the American Rescue Plan and his historic infrastructure modernization plan, two measures that benefit families, communities and small businesses across our state.

But when I filed the official paperwork last week for my first re-election to the United States Senate, there was one thing I knew for certain.

I cannot win this 2022 campaign and hold the line for Senate Democrats alone. Standing up to the powerful special interests that want to get their way at the expense of the American people requires all of us to do our part.

That's why today, I'm asking you to do something different to show that you are a part of our fight to protect this democracy of ours and the common values we share as Americans.

Unfortunately, Mitch McConnell and the Republicans in the Senate have opposed us every step of the way. Not ONE Republican voted for the American Rescue Plan. And they will stop at nothing to regain control.

So make no mistake, every big issue we care about is on the line in this year's midterm elections. From voting rights to women's rights. From climate action to gun safety. From raising the minimum wage to cutting the prices of prescription drugs.
