We have a big month ahead of us, so I want to take a moment and give you a few updates directly from campaign HQ. Some are a little more concerning than others, but it's important to me that you're kept in the loop.

• I have not one, but four Republican opponents who have gone on the attack against me. One is a self-funder who has already given himself over $1,000,000. One is backed by Larry Elder, and one is a Trump acolyte who was encouraged by NRCC operatives to run against me.

• Republican activists in CA-49 are more invigorated than ever. We're heading into a midterm election that's historically tough for the party in power. Not to mention redistricting made our district more competitive and Republican-leaning.

• Team Levin is ramping up our field efforts. We have a new office in Carlsbad, and are running a robust voter contact program to communicate with undecided voters ahead of our June 7 primary.

• We set a $45,000 fundraising goal before this month’s FEC deadline to hire more staff, print literature, and cover travel costs across the district. Unfortunately, we're pacing well behind where we need to be.

John, with our campaign heating up, I’m hoping you will chip in your very first donation of $5 before midnight to help us keep pace and close this fundraising gap. The stronger our field program, the better we can fend off the attacks coming our way.
