John,
The other day, a piece in The Washington Post announced that the GOP's plan to gerrymander was "backfiring." Some are expressing surprise – but not us. This is the result of the strategy that A.G. Holder and the NDRC have been very intentional about implementing. Will you pitch in to help us keep executing this successful strategy?
"Democrats had a plan, and built the infrastructure, to... litigate where Republicans overreached, pass ballot initiatives against gerrymandering, and raise more public awareness of redistricting before the cycle began."
– Slate |
That's exactly right, John. But what happens next is uncertain. Politico reports that Republicans are considering more ruthless gerrymanders in the states that have yet to adopt maps. And while the fair redistricting movement has had a great deal of success in court, we never know what the Supreme Court will do. So there are two options at this point:
(1) You can assume redistricting is over – and risk 10 years of GOP map manipulation.
(2) You can heed the words of President Obama when he says "the fight for fair maps is not over," and chip in.
Will you chip in?

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters. |
