Dear
Friend
—
Long Beach continues to stand with the people of Ukraine as they
fight to protect their homes and democracy in the face of an
unprovoked military invasion by the Russian government. In the past
days, we've lit up our city landmarks in the blue and yellow of the
Ukrainian flag, and our thoughts remain with the millions of people
who have been impacted as this war drags into its second week.
We've also partnered with CSULB to support international students
from Ukraine and those affected in the region through their Student
Emergency Fund for Food and Housing. Our community has a long history
of welcoming and supporting immigrants and refugees and immigrants
seeking safety in the United States, and we're proud to continue this
legacy through these efforts.
If you are able, please consider donating to support our
international students at this
link by entering your donation in the area indicated for Student
Emergency Fund: Food & Housing Security.
CSULB's Student Emergency Fund for Food and Housing helps to
support students so that they can continue to safely pursue their
studies in our city, and we're using it to ensure the international
students impacted by Russia's invasion of Ukraine have the assistance
and resources they need.
Thank you,
Mayor Robert Garcia
