Friend,

We're fighting our own party to make climate change a priority -- that's why Jay's asking for your help.

The DNC has to ensure that the next president takes bold climate action on the scope and scale necessary to meet the defining challenge of our time.

On stage at the last debate, almost every candidate agreed, yet the DNC still won't commit to hosting a climate debate.

No one else is making this a priority, so we have to: We're calling on all 2020 candidates to join our call -- and we're asking you, too.

Add your name now to join Jay's call to every 2020 candidate: Demand a climate debate from the DNC to address the most defining, challenging, and important issue of our lifetime.

Thanks,

Aisling

Friend,

Right after the debate, I sent a letter to my fellow 2020 candidates:

Join me in demanding the DNC allow a climate debate, and eliminate its gag rule that punishes candidates for participating in an outside climate debate.

Today, I'm asking you to join me in that call -- because in four hours of Democratic debate over two nights, the DNC spent less than 15 minutes on our climate crisis. You and I both know if we don't solve this crisis nothing else we talked about on that stage in Miami will matter.

Add your name next to mine to call on all 2020 candidates to demand a climate debate from the DNC!

The DNC had promised to discuss climate change "early and often." About that...

In the first night of debates, the climate crisis received only eight minutes of attention, and wasn't even brought up as a question until 80 minutes into the debate.

When asked both nights what candidates believed was the biggest threat to our nation, many of them mentioned climate change -- so what's the hold up?

Science demands bold plans and real solutions, and more than eight minutes of lip service during a debate. Heck, Miami, the city the debate was hosted in, will be underwater if we don't act. Democrats want a full discussion on climate change. Humanity demands a full debate on the existential crisis of our time. It's well past time for the DNC to listen.

I'm calling on all 2020 candidates to join me in demanding a climate debate from the DNC -- will you join me? Add your name today.

Very truly yours,

Jay
