Donate $20 to support our work to Put a Black Woman on the Supreme Court
John,
Last month, Joe Biden nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court – fulfilling a campaign promise to nominate a Black woman to the highest court in the land.
The credibility of Black women has been undermined by the Senate in the past - like we saw with Anita Hill. Donate $20 and support our work to confirm the first Black woman Supreme Court Justice.
The Supreme Court rules on every issue that affects our lives: healthcare, education, immigration, criminal justice, voting rights, reproductive justice, environmental justice and more. If her nomination is successful, Judge Jackson would become the first public defender to sit on the Supreme Court. She spent years overturning wrongful federal convictions for people who could not afford their own lawyers. In a time when voting rights and access to abortion is under threat, it will be important to confirm a Supreme Court Justice with Judge Jackson’s experience who can defend our civil rights.
Donate Now to support the nomination of ketanji Brown Jackson!
Senate Republicans have made it clear that they will do everything in their power to obstruct this confirmation process and question Judge Jackson’s qualifications. After Mitch McConnell stole a Supreme Court seat from President Obama and pushed through the nominations of Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, it’s clear that he will hijack the Court by any means necessary. We can’t let Mitch McConnell win. Donate $20 today and support Color Of Change’s campaign to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson
At Color of Change, we don’t take donations from corporations. We depend on support from members to drive our campaigns to protect our democracy in your state and across the country.
It’s time for this country to recognize the contributions that Black women have made to the pursuit of justice!
