John — I wanted to reach out to give you the latest updates from our teams on the ground in eastern Europe. The urgent need is increasing daily.
This latest update is truly heartbreaking: The number of refugees who have fled to neighboring states has skyrocketed to one million. As many as 500,000 people remain displaced within the country. The vast majority of them are women, children and the elderly.
As you can imagine, border crossings are packed. Families are waiting upwards of 60 hours — that's two and a half days — in the blistering cold, often with minimal belongings. Many of them had to leave behind their family members to get to safety. They are tired, hungry and scared.
Here is our promise to refugee families: We will be there, every step of the way, for as long as we are needed. Can you rush an emergency donation to help deliver critical aid to families affected by the conflict in Ukraine and in crisis zones worldwide? You can use this personalized link: [link removed]
Our teams are on the ground in neighboring Poland — where the government is preparing to welcome up to one million refugees — working around the clock to scale up our response. We are coordinating with local partners to assess humanitarian needs and mobilizing resources to provide critical aid to families fleeing the conflict.
I know we've been sending you a lot of emails, John, but this is truly urgent. Families impacted by the conflict in Ukraine need our support to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. Rush your emergency donation now using this link to help deliver critical aid to displaced and refugee families: [link removed]
Your support can make all the difference for a family in crisis.
I'll be in touch soon with more updates.
