The Supreme Court is on track to gut or overturn women’s fundamental right to abortion by late spring. Already Texas is under a near total abortion ban.

Denying the right to abortion does grotesque physical, emotional, societal, and psychic violence to women by forcing them to have children against their will. Forced motherhood is female enslavement! The denial of abortion rights hits Black women and other women of color especially hard and is bound up with a theocratic, fascist program which also takes aim at the rights of LGBTQ people.

The violent subjugation of half of society must not be accommodated, excused, downplayed, or surrendered to. IT MUST BE STOPPED!

Our only way forward is to resist! To fill the streets with our fury, compelling all to take notice and inspiring more people to join us. We draw inspiration from the mighty outpourings around the world against patriarchal degradation. Let us rise together this International Women's Day. Then, we rally more people and fury… aiming to bring society to a halt and force our demand – that women not be slammed backwards – to be reckoned with and acted upon by every institution in society.

NOW is the time to stand up, together, as if our lives depend upon it—for, in fact, they do.
