Detonate Festival brings together some of the biggest DJs and live acts in electronic music to Nottingham for one day only.
Taking place just outside the city centre, Detonate Festival will be surrounded by the lakes and woodlands of Colwick Country Park.

The fantastic season of open air theatre performances returns this summer to the manicured gardens and beautiful ruins of Newstead Abbey, and the spectacular Elizabethan mansion and park at Wollaton.
The first performance of the year is David Walliams' Awful Auntie (Sat 11 June) at Newstead Abbey, adapted for the outdoor stage by Heartbreak Productions. It's a truly thrilling tale of owls, ghosts, chases, escapes, motorcycle rides, and umm...tiddlywinks as Stella evades her menacing Aunt and saves the family home.

The Wollaton season starts a little bit later with The Gunpowder Plot (Thurs 16 June), also offering a mix of performances to delight children and adults alike such as Cinderella, and Shakespeare classics including A Midsummer Night's Dream.

This weekend, to mark International Women's Day, Newstead Abbey celebrates the women that lived there over the last 200 years.
From 1861, two of the most inspiring female residents were Geraldine and Ethel Webb, who travelled to Japan with their father and came home to Newstead inspired by Japanese art and culture.
You can see the inspiration for yourself in the beautiful Japanese Room, and Japanese Garden.
