"Please Explain" Political
Campaigning Episode 17
Strike your most comfortable pose and hit the play button for this
week's instalment of "Please Explain" to learn how political
campaigning works, why politicians do it, and why they won't
stop.
Usually, you would need a crowbar to pry your average
politician out from behind their desks and into the real world.
That all changes come election time.
Suddenly politicians rarely sighted outside the Canberra
bubble are appearing on the front pages of magazines in awkward poses
or blinding themselves as they mishandle welders in photo ops gone
wrong. All in the name of political campaigning.

"people don't want to see you pretending to do their job"
genuine 10/10 material" (Frank Wren)
"These just get better every week. So good to get some relevant
Aussie humour back. We were once a thriving nation of comedy. Now, if
it sells in America it comes to Australia. Keep them coming PH and
Crew of funny people!" (William Stanky)
"These are the best cartoons to watch at the moment. Awesome
job and hats off to the creators, and to you Pauline releasing them.
Definitely deserves more views. Appreciate them very much."

eternity" (Simoss13)
One Nation Supports 100% Australian
Made
From Senator Pauline
Hanson
Getting set for our strongest
campaign yet.
151 Lower House candidates, Senate
candidates in every state, and a team that runs off the smell of an
oily rag.
One Nation will again put our money where
our mouth is. That's why we've deliberately ensured our
election campaign material is 100% Australian made, using recyclable
products.
Our corflute material is manufactured in
Victoria, then printed on the Gold Coast. It's also recyclable, which
means it won't end up breaking down into micro plastic particles and
ending up in our oceans.
Our paper is Australian made and printed
on the Gold Coast.
The stubby cooler material is
manufactured in Victoria, then printed and stitched on the Gold
Coast.
This is the biggest campaign One Nation
2.0 has ever run.
How can you help? You can support One
Nation at this election.

We couldn't do it without you, so thanks
again for your support as we get set for our biggest campaign yet...
a campaign that also supports Australian businesses.
Can any other party honestly claim
that?
QLD/NSW FLOODS
From Senator Pauline
Hanson
My heart goes out to all those in Queensland and NSW who are
currently battling terrible flood conditions.
The timing couldn't be worse for businesses and communities looking
to rebuild after COVID and for many of the hardest-hit this is the
second or third time in under a decade.
The sheer amount of water that has fallen is incredible, I've seen
it first hand as the creek that runs through my property is currently
a raging river. I'm cut off but I'm high enough up that I'm safe.
Many others have not been so fortunate.
But we are a tough bunch and we will get through. I know everyone
will be willing to get out there and help their mates recover and
rebuild.
Tragically these floods have already taken 8 lives, including the
life of an SES volunteer—so please everyone stay safe, avoid flooded
roads, and don't take any unnecessary risks.
Update: Office Access
Unavailable
Due to the Brisbane floods my staff and I have been unable to
access my Senate electorate offices and neither has Senator Roberts
and his staff.
While our staff can do most of their work remotely, the closure of
the Senate offices has meant they have not been able to answer phone
calls (parliamentary phone lines cannot readily be 'call
forwarded').
Apologies to anyone who has tried to reach us by phone during these
difficult times, we are trying to have this resolved as soon as
possible.
In the meantime, anyone looking to contact my Senate office or
Senator Malcolm Roberts about constituent issues should email:
[email protected] or [email protected]
Sorry for any inconvenience. Hopefully, things are back to normal
as quickly as possible.
Senate Estimates
Jab Mandates Justified
Retrospectively
From Senator Malcolm Roberts,
Queensland
Companies are illegally backfilling risk assessments to justify jab
mandates
Workplaces jumped the gun and implemented jab mandates for
employees without doing their legally obligated risk
assessment.
When caught out, some have tried to ‘backfill’ their risk
assessment, to make it look like they had done the process properly in
the first place.
As the Fair Work Ombudsman has told me, on the face of it this
would be fraudulent under Workplace Health and Safety
laws.
If you suspect a workplace has backfilled or retrospectively made a
risk assessment for a jab mandate after implementing it, you should
immediately report them to the Work Health and Safety Regulator in
your State.

What is the Digital Identity Bill
From Senator Malcolm Roberts,
Queensland
This could be the fight of our lives. If you thought they’d stop at
COVID, think again.

Shocking, Elitist, Condescending
Slur
From The Hon. Mark Latham MLC,
New South Wales
Documents lodged by the NSW Department of Education for an Upper
House call for papers have revealed one of the most shocking, elitist
condescending slurs I have seen.
A principal in the Lithgow area when asked what could be done to
improve HSC results replied “better breeding”.
This behaviour is completely unacceptable. The person who said this
disgusting comment has no place in the NSW school system and should be
sacked immediately.

NSW Floods
From Rod Roberts,
MLC
My thoughts are with those communities currently suffering from the
devastating flooding that is affecting large areas of our state.
If it's flooded...forget it. If the road is flooded don't even
think about it. Please follow instructions and guidance from our
emergency services.
My praise to all the volunteers and emergency service workers
providing crucial assistance to those in need at this time.
Most of all stay safe.
Another Big Win for the Anti-Mandate
Campaign
From Stephen Andrew, MP for
Mirani, QLD
Another big win for the Anti-Mandate Campaign yesterday, with the
Gold Coast City Council reversing its earlier position on
imposing a ‘no jab, no job’ policy on its workforce.
Over 400 Council workers stuck to their guns and refused to give up
their right to bodily autonomy. They banded together, calling
themselves the Gold Coast Council Pro-Choice Alliance group, and
engaged human rights lawyers to take their fight to the courts.
Fortunately, this will no longer be necessary after CEO Tim Baker
announced yesterday that the Council had decided to can its earlier,
and deeply unpopular, decision to impose mandates. Mr Baker said the
Council had received a new and updated risk assessment on “the
consequences of being infected”.
The re-assessment found that “for most people who test positive for
Covid-19, only flu-like symptoms develop which can be managed with
non-prescription pain killers such as paracetamol”.
Mayor Tom Tate, who admits to being “pro-choice”, told the
media:
“I’m pleased that everyone can come back to work and the main thing
is the crucial services such as waste and water are now secure”.
Of course, those ‘brave defenders of truth and justice’ in the
mainstream media are frothing at the mouth over the decision.
However, since the hugely popular and successful Trucker convoys,
both here and in Canada, I have noticed there has been a real shift in
the popular mood when it comes to mandates.
People no longer seem so interested in demonising and persecuting
their fellow citizens, many of whom are their neighbours, friends,
co-workers and even family members.
Congratulations to all the Gold Coast Council Pro-Choice
Alliance workers, who stuck by each other and stood their ground
against the forces of medical tyranny.
As their website states: “This affects everyone in Australia.
Everyone.”

Well said, and well done!
