Team, happy Women’s History Month. This is our time to celebrate the many accomplishments women have made throughout history, as well as the achievements of our friends, colleagues, neighbors, and family members.

As we take this opportunity to lift women up, it’s important to acknowledge just how far we’ve been able to come. In the last century alone, we’ve taken major strides toward equality, whether it’s at home or in the workplace.

But even as we make progress, the fight for gender equality continues. Right now, the challenges women ( and especially women of color ) are facing to get equal pay in the workplace and secure reproductive rights are raging across the nation. It will take all of us standing together to make the changes we need to see.

As the first Black woman serving in Alabama’s congressional delegation, I’m proud to continue fighting for equal representation for ALL women and encourage millions of women and girls that achieving their dreams is possible.

In Solidarity,

Terri Sewell
