John,

We don’t have much time until climate change upends our world forever.

That’s the basic conclusion of the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change (IPCC), a group made up of climate policy experts from around the
globe. Earlier this week, the IPCC released a report stating that the impacts
of climate change are already being felt, and that if we are to avoid the very
worst dangers of climate change, we must act now.

You know where I stand on climate change – it is an existential threat that
demands our immediate attention. We need to reduce our dependence on
fossil fuels. We need to invest in renewable forms of energy. And above all,
we need to follow the science. Yesterday, I earned another score of 100%
from the League of Conservation Voters for my continuing environmental
work in Congress.

I have not been shy about my stance on climate change. Help me continue
fighting for our environment and our future by making a donation today >>

Unfortunately, climate deniers have not been shy about their stance either.

On Monday, the Supreme Court heard a case in which Republican state
officials teamed up with coal companies to try to stop the EPA from regulating
harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Fossil fuel lobbyists poured into
Washington to downplay the threat of climate change. Their goal? To
convince the Supreme Court to weaken environmental protections, so that
they can keep raking in profits.

Corporate lobbyists aren’t climate experts. The real experts have unified
around one unmistakable fact: climate change threatens us all. And
John, we’re almost out of time to counter the threat.

We can’t afford to jeopardize our Democratic majorities in the House and
Senate. If Republicans take control of Congress in November, the fossil
fuel companies will once again descend on Washington to drive Republican
policies. We don’t have time for those deadly games.

I need your help now to defend our majority and pave the way for responsible,
informed climate policy. We only have a narrow window of time left.
Will you take a stand for our future by making a contribution today?
