ACEH is now accepting applications to serve on the ACEH Board of Directors and the Homeless Response System Advisory Council

The Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness (ACEH) continues to seek out ways to partner more deeply with the Anchorage community to make homelessness rare, brief and one-time.

Over the past few months, ACEH has been redesigning its governance structure. Effective January 2020, there will be two identified governing bodies, the ACEH Board of Directors and the Homeless Response System (HRS) Advisory Council, to work with the organization and the Anchorage Homeless Response System (Continuum of Care) at large. We are currently soliciting applications for community members interested in serving on either layer of our governing structure. Below you will find additional information on the structure and the roles. Attached you will find the application forms for both layers of the governance structure and for our General Membership*. We hope you will consider joining us in our mission!

The ACEH Board of Directors, which will meet quarterly, will continue to be responsible for the traditional nonprofit board governance of the ACEH organization itself. Areas of focus will include (but are not limited to):

  • ACEH organizational health and support
  • ACEH financial reviews
  • ACEH strategic planning
  • Homeless Response System advocacy and fundraising for the system
We are looking for individuals who can share their experience and talent in the following areas:
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Strategic planning, implementation and project management expertise
  • Oversight and mentorship of organizational leadership
  • Community relationships and partnerships

We will also be introducing the Homeless Response System (HRS) Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is the collective of individuals (the planning body) appointed to provide oversight and governance on behalf of the Continuum of Care. Areas of focus will include (but are not limited to):
  • Annually establishing community priorities to share with funders and policy makers
  • Coordinated Entry system health and performance monitoring
  • Built for Zero initiatives
  • Anchored Home implementation
  • AK-HMIS strategic governance and performance monitoring (in partnership with the AKHMIS Advisory Board and the Alaska Coalition on Housing and Homelessness)
  • Communications & advocacy content oversight and creation
We are looking for individuals who can share their experience and talent in any of the following areas:
  • Lived homelessness experience
  • Housing entities or landlords
  • Homeless service organizations
  • Victim services
  • State and local governments
  • Educational organizations
  • Healthcare organizations
  • Law enforcement

You are formally invited to apply to sit on either body. Applications for all can be found at anchoragehomeless.org (links below and applications are also attached). We encourage you to submit your application by 12/2/2019 for consideration.

ACEH is seeking a Transition Coordinator

Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness helps support the daily operation of the Anchorage Coordinated Entry System (CES). Though there is much overlap between Transition Coordinators, different positions have different focus areas. The Transition Coordinator job description is written to fit all positions, though variations in daily activities exist. The intended primary focus for this role is to provide mobile access to the CES for people experiencing homelessness within the Municipality of Anchorage. This role will require both rotation through multiple social service locations and street outreach to provide direct-services to households experiencing homelessness.
