I am reaching out to you today to let you know that I am running for re-election and kickstarting my campaign! These past 3 years as State Treasurer, I have earned a reputation as an innovative and practical leader, focusing on some of the most important issues facing Delaware. I have kept my promise of putting Delaware's economy and well-being at the forefront of my priorities.

What has made me successful as State Treasurer?

It’s simple—I know Delaware.

I arrived in Delaware when I was 8 years old when my family was in search of a better life and bigger opportunities at a time when my father and I both endured significant health challenges and we faced unimaginable economic loss. Delaware welcomed my family and me with open arms. I immediately knew that this was a place I could forever call my home.

The challenges my family faced and the ways in which the Delaware community rallied around us led me to pursue a career focused on giving back. I'm committed to ensuring that ALL working families in our state are safe and provided for, but I can't do it without you. I began my career as a physician's assistant and while the work was incredibly fulfilling, I quickly found that the system was broken. I was inspired to apply my knowledge of the healthcare system and my passion for making improvements to a consulting career, in which I helped major healthcare systems across the country realize millions of dollars in savings while improving their patient outcomes.

In 2018, I decided I wanted to make an even greater impact and help the lives of all Delawareans. I made the decision to run for state treasurer.

I wanted to apply my lived experiences and my experience as a healthcare professional and activist, to lift up all Delawareans by increasing pathways to individual economic empowerment in a climate of efficient and prosperous economic growth for everyone.

The Last 3 Years…

Throughout my first term, I have made great strides pursuing my vision for Delaware and the Office of the State Treasurer. I’m proud to share with you that we have made progress:

• Promoting retirement readiness and security by drafting the historic Delaware Expanding Access for Retirement and Necessary Savings (EARNS) Act Delaware
• Deepening pathways to economic empowerment by making significant improvements in the DEFER Deferred Compensation Plan, the DE529 Education Savings Plan, and the DEPENDABLE “Achieving a Better Life Experience” program
• Strengthening a culture of financial and operational excellence with accomplishments such as investing tax payer dollars with record returns and accomplishing a monumental overhaul of the state’s banking architecture

Along the way, we’ve encountered and overcome many challenges as well…

Even in the wake of Covid-19, we reported a historic $1.12 billion surplus on our total budget.

I’m proud to report that the Office of the State Treasurer took on a considerable role in helping the State navigate its pandemic response. Delaware is emerging from the pandemic as strong as ever. None of this could have been done without the tremendous leadership and talent on my team.

My background and past experience allows me to have diverse and innovative ideas and see everyone’s point of view. My desire to help is deeply embedded in who I am because of my lived experience. I have the vision, the passion, the experience, and you’ve seen the results.
