Friends,

No-knock warrants often have severe and deadly consequences — resulting in property damage, trauma, and death.

Last month, we saw those consequences with the tragic murder of Amir Locke — who was not the subject of the warrant — at the hands of police in Minneapolis.

It is a moral outrage that law enforcement continues to employ no-knock warrants with little to no restrictions.

That’s why I just introduced the Amir Locke End Deadly No-Knock Warrants Act in the House to finally address this issue that has caused so much needless tragedy and loss.

We need to move toward a safer, more compassionate public safety system, and this bill is an important part of achieving that goal. Will you add your name as a citizen co-sponsor of the Amir Locke End Deadly No-Knock Warrants Act?

No-knock warrants are dangerous for everyone. In fact, the New York Times found that between 2010 and 2016, no-knock and quick-knock raids resulted in the deaths of 81 civilians and 13 law enforcement officers.

The Amir Locke End Deadly No-Knock Warrants Act would ban quick-knock warrants — which give people essentially no time to respond — and all nighttime warrants; stop the use of flash-bang stun grenades, other explosive devices, chemical weapons, and any military-grade firearms; and impose strict limitations on the use of no-knock warrants in drug-related investigations.

Please, become a citizen co-sponsor of my Amir Locke End Deadly No-Knock Warrants Act to help us move toward ending deadly no-knock warrants for good:
