On November 3rd, 2019, the Black Jewish Justice Alliance (BJJA), a collaboration of CLUE and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, hosted a Confronting White Supremacy Forum at Holman United Methodist Church that drew over 250 attendees. The event was the embodiment of the vibrant leadership and activism of our communities in these challenging times. The speakers included Rabbi Brous and Rev. Jim Lawson, a co-founder of CLUE and who also worked closely with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King.

One of CLUE’s faith-rooted organizers, Pastor Cue, helped organize the event and was very encouraged by the participation. Throughout the evening, there was a high level of engagement and participation, particularly in the break out sessions. The event was a great success and received rave reviews from attendees and participants.

The BJJA began in 2014 as a commitment between CLUE and the SCLC, as attempt to revisit the relationship which began between Jews and African Americans during the Civil Rights movement as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s  nonviolent movement.

CLUE is committed to building on the momentum of the success of this event in 2020.
