John,

On Tuesday night, President Biden delivered a powerful State of the Union address. He discussed the progress we've made on helping families get through a pandemic, creating millions of jobs, and historic investments that will make the 2020s an infrastructure decade in America.

He was also clear-eyed about the challenges we still face. He noted the attacks on voting rights, the efforts to roll back a woman's right to choose, and the unchecked corporate powers that still price-gauge millions of Americans on everything from gas to life-saving drugs (as Biden eloquently said, capitalism without competition isn't capitalism – it's exploitation).

Now is when we need bold leaders in Congress pushing for workers' rights, more measures to alleviate the cost of living, safeguards to our democracy, and a greener future.

I've never wavered in fighting for these principles. And that's made a lot of entrenched interests nervous – now, they're prepared to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to defeat me in June's primary election.

I refuse to let corporate PACs determine our future, and I'm working to build a powerful grassroots movement throughout IL-06 to show that people demand better. I cannot build this movement alone, so I'm asking for your support [again].

Please pitch in $5 – or whatever you can – for my campaign. The primary will be here before we know it, and we can't waste a moment in funding our field program, our digital outreach, and our TV budget.

Thank you so much,

Marie
