When I ran for office, I made a promise. I would serve your interests over special interests, and I would always represent the values we share: Accountability, responsibility, courage, and action.

And since day one in Washington, I've fought for campaign finance reform, expanded background checks on gun sales, and sought greater election security. And every day, I refuse to take a dime from special interests or PACs.

I'm keeping my promises, but it's made me a target of the biggest special interests around. If you believe in what we're trying to accomplish, I hope you'll contribute to my 2020 campaign before our mid-month fundraising deadline.

I know that many of you are watching closely to hear what comes out of the impeachment hearings this week. I am too.

But one thing is already clear: A culture where special interests and foreign nationals can buy and trade on influence in D.C. isn't how politics should work.

We can show them a better way. I want to prove that our movement -- one powered by people, and not special interests -- isn't a fluke.
