Friend,
On Tuesday night, I gave the official Working Families Party response to President Biden’s State of the Union address.
I was honored to be able to elevate the voices of the families and communities across the country that continue to be left behind.
I spoke from my heart about the opportunity we still have in Congress to pass President Biden’s full agenda and to show working families everywhere that, yes, our government can put them first.
Our government can work for the people, and it must.
I highlighted the urgency of expanding access to healthcare, lowering prescription drug costs, fighting climate change, preserving and building affordable housing, investing in children and families, ensuring real safety in our communities, and more—all popular policies that would demonstrate that Democrats can deliver for working-class families.
But for the past year, two forces have stood in the way of progress on these issues and more: a Republican Party that serves only the rich and powerful, and just enough corporate-backed Democratic obstructionists to help them succeed.
I believe it’s time we had a majority in Congress who will fight for us—a working families majority. And this is the election year to make it happen.
If you agree, can you make a split contribution between my campaign and the Working Families Party today? We need to come together now if we are going to elect leaders to Congress in this year’s midterm elections who will stand for working people, not corporate donors.
Friend, we know what happens when Republicans take power. We’ve seen it before.
They’ll protect the rich and target the rest of us. They’ll block progress on climate change and they’ll attack and undermine voting rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, immigrants, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community.
We’re seeing this play out in Republican-led states. We can’t let that happen on a federal level this November.
I’m a lifelong Democrat, but I’m also proud to be part of the Working Families Party. WFP is a voice for the multiracial working class, fighting for a nation that cares for all of us. And WFP is working day in and day out to elect champions to Congress who will put working people first.
If that’s the kind of majority in Congress you want to see, please make a split contribution between my campaign and the Working Families Party today. Together, I know we can win a Working Families majority in Congress that will truly stand up for all of us.
