Texas Evangelicals Urge Congress to Grant Permanent Legal Status to Afghans - Since August, more than 70,000 Afghans who were evacuated out of Kabul have been granted humanitarian parole into the United States. Most of them have now been resettled across local communities, many with the direct support of churches and other community organizations, including approximately 9,800 resettled to Texas. However, these Afghans do not have a clear process to pursue permanent legal status. Local evangelical leaders urge Congress to pass legislation that would allow these Afghan parolees a direct process by which they can apply for permanent legal status.

Rep. Jackson, Sen. Hawley Introduce Legislation to Restore American Energy Independence, End Reliance on Foreign Nations - Representative Ronny Jackson and Senator Josh Hawley introduce the America Energy Independence Act of 2022 to reduce US and NATO reliance on Russian oil and return American energy to full production. "Energy security is national security, and we see that clearly with what is going on in Ukraine. We went from being energy independent to relying on Russian oil. We are now helping Putin, a ruthless dictator, finance his invasion of Ukraine. Our response has been hindered because of our, and our NATO allies’, dependence on Russian oil."

Rep. Pfluger Commends WWII Nurse Mary Lou Hand - Mary Lou Hand served the United States during World War II as an Army nurse caring for those who were critically wounded. Recently, Congressman Pfluger spoke on the House Floor commending Mrs. Hand for her service to the country and congratulating her on her 100th birthday.
