Last week, President Biden nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to Supreme Court Justice.
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is one of the sharpest legal minds in the country. Throughout her career, first as a public defender and then as a United States Circuit Judge, she has proved herself to be immensely qualified and fiercely devoted to upholding the rights of all Americans.
As the first Black woman to serve as a justice, her confirmation would be historic and will bring a unique and powerful perspective to the bench.
I commend President Biden on his choice, and I am confident that she will make an excellent addition to the highest court of our land. But the road to confirmation won't be easy, John — with a 50/50 split in the Senate, it's crucial we show Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson our continued support.
