Friend -- we need to talk about what's happening in Texas.

The Governor of Texas is calling on citizens to report parents of transgender kids for "child abuse." He wants to tear apart families and punish parents for seeking gender-affirming health care for their kids.

It's despicable, it's bigoted, and it's part of an increasing wave of anti-LGBTQ+ attacks across the country. So we have to fight back.

Congress can do something about it by passing federal protections for LGBTQ+ families. Sign on to call for action NOW to protect LGBTQ+ kids and stop this horrific discrimination:

This is just the latest of Texas' attempts to strip away rights for LGBTQ+ kids and their families. Last year, Texas' Republican-led legislature passed a law to prevent transgender kids from playing school sports. Now, the Texas governor is ratcheting it up, calling on doctors, teachers, and "members of the general public" to turn in parents who are facilitating gender-affirming health care for their kids.

But it's not just Texas. In Florida, the governor is expected to sign the "Don't Say Gay" bill, which would ban discussions of sexual orientation or gender identity in schools.

Study after study shows that we can reduce suicide rates among LGBTQ+ kids by allowing for open discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity and providing gender-affirming care when needed. These laws in Florida and Texas aren't just out of step with the urgent needs of Americans -- they could have deadly consequences for families.

LGBTQ+ kids deserve to live openly and in peace. So we have to speak out now. Add your name to condemn these despicable, anti-LGBTQ+ policies and demand action NOW to protect LGBTQ+ children and families.
