Equality Virginia is joining with organizations and people around the world to celebrate Transgender Awareness Week, which runs from November 13-19, and culminates with the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) on Wednesday, November 20th.

This week of celebration and reflection is a reminder of the need to center transgender and non-binary people, particularly transgender women of color, in our conversations about justice and equality. On TDOR, we honor those who have died due to anti-trans violence and recognize the resilience of the transgender community.

We hope you will take this week to commit to deepening your understanding and to uplift the voices of your transgender neighbors.
