One of Katie’s main priorities in Congress is cracking down on corruption. That’s why last month she introduced both the STOCK Act 2.0 and the SCAM PAC Act.
The STOCK Act 2.0 would ban Members of Congress from trading stocks. This would ensure Members of Congress are working for the American people, not wheeling and dealing for their own stock portfolio—and it will help restore trust in our elected leaders.
The SCAM PAC Act goes after political PACs that use the money they raise to line their own pockets, rather than supporting candidates or causes. As a consumer protection attorney, Katie knows how important it is to have laws that protect people from scams and hold dishonest scammers accountable. What some of these PACs have been doing is especially egregious—going after seniors and veterans who just want to make a difference, all to make a quick profit.
