Usher in change with leaders that put our people and planet first No images? Click here John, Right now, legislators and communities are fighting to push important environmental protections and environmental justice provisions over the finish line before the legislative session ends. During the session is when we see the tangible impacts of leaders our community helped elect to stand up and lead on environmental issues. With your support we work year-round to organize community members and support candidates, so we have the grassroots power to elect environmental champions that will represent our communities and champion the environment. Mobilizing and supporting candidates and legislators who will put the environment and our communities first matters. And how we bolster candidates who come from historically marginalized and impacted communities especially matters. Here’s why: when someone who knows and understands the concerns of the communities they are representing through lived experience, they are better equipped to advocate for those concerns at the decision-making table. They know the community they are representing and what is at stake for them. We cannot usher in change without these kinds of leaders. And with your help, we can elect and support them so we can create a future where our policies benefit the health of our environment and communities, especially the most vulnerable. Many things hang in the balance in 2022, especially as State House and Senate elections in the fall. We must continue to join hands and make sure we are together creating a future that centers community health and longevity of our environment. Sincerely, Joy Stanford Joy Stanford |
