Write your members of Congress and urge them to pass the $555 billion climate investment to secure a healthy future.

Friend,

Earlier this week, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released its latest report on the impacts of climate change.

It established what we already know — climate change is here, and our leaders need to take swift action now.

The IPCC’s warning is clear: If we don’t act on climate change, young people and the following generations will face an unequal and unfair future as they’re forced to face the brunt of climate change.

Last year, Congress fell short of passing a $555 billion climate investment within the Build Back Better Act. We know climate action can’t wait any longer, so this year we’re making sure Congress passes the investment.

Act now: Congress has a responsibility to protect future generations. Write to your representatives now and urge them to pass the $555 billion climate investment.

The projections from the IPCC are worrying, but it’s crucial we don’t lose hope. Our lawmakers have the tools to put us on a path that strengthens and prioritizes a safer climate, but they need to act now.

By supporting the $555 billion climate investment, representatives would help our climate thrive through:

  • Establishing a new Civilian Climate Corps to create over 300,000 jobs that will train and hire Americans to restore public lands, protect biodiversity, and improve climate resilience for communities;
  • Prioritizing clean energy technology (wind turbines, solar panels, and more) that's built here in the United States;
  • Investing in climate-resilient affordable housing and community infrastructure;
  • Advancing environmental justice within frontline communities through a new Clean Energy and Sustainability Accelerator.

Members of Congress owe us this action on climate, as some of these lawmakers have put the interests of corporate polluters above the health of Americans. To help save our climate, it’s crucial that Congress puts the safety and future of Americans first and refuses to give in to the demands of these corporate polluters.

The devastation from climate change will impact us all — especially low-income communities and communities of color. As climate change intensifies, Americans will face displacement and rising costs to basic necessities as their neighborhoods are hit hard.

This unsettling future is not set in stone. Lawmakers have the ability to enact transformational change through the $555 billion climate investment — we just have to keep up the pressure.

Write to Congress now and urge lawmakers to take bold, transformative action on climate.

Write to Congress

Thank you,
