John,

Three words motivated a movement that is now transforming lives across North Dakota.

Dream.

Hope.

Act.

As the First Lady told the Dickinson Press: "Everyone is entitled to dream of a life free of the disease of addiction. There is so much hope for recovery. Everyone has the ability to take action, and it can be as simple as someone using their voice."

This week First Lady Kathryn Burgum and Gov. Doug Burgum hosted the third annual Recovery Reinvented event. A record 1,200+ attendees heard stories of inspiration and were able to be connected with recovery resources from 40 support, non-profit and government organizations.

Watch the video to learn more about Kathryn’s story and why she is so committed to ending the stigma of the disease of addiction and treating it like the disease it is:

  • A Free, Confidential Recovery Talk Hotline: 1-844-44-TALK2
  • A Families Strong program to support families impacted by addiction
