A clip of GOP candidate for Governor Scott Jensen praising Vladimir Putin has resurfaced this week, John.

During a public appearance last September, Jensen made the shocking comments in response to criticism he faced after a Russian state-sponsored propaganda outlet broadcast his false claims about COVID-19. Here’s what he said:

“Moscow’s making a big deal about, in America, they’re so afraid of the truth that a doctor who tells the truth gets in trouble. And I thought, ‘Well, I never really expected any help from Mr. Putin, but I’m getting it.’” –Scott Jensen, September 2021

John, it’s deeply disturbing that a leading GOP candidate for Minnesota Governor would cozy up to a dictator just because his propaganda outfit echoed his dangerous conspiracy theories. 

If we’re going to make sure Minnesota continues to be a place where we trust science, put people before politics, and govern with empathy, we can’t let this Republican Party retake power.
