The you that is feeling down. The you that is tired. The you that feels unsure of yourself. The you that feels unfamiliar. I want you to know that it's okay if you can't show up fully." Continue Reading In the News WAVE's statement on the current war in Ukraine "In the short term, women and children are often forced to flee their homes, and women are expected to assume the role of main breadwinners, caregivers, and national rebuilders whilst experiencing trauma. Likewise, women, girls, as well as LGBTQI+ people can be victims of sexual assault and exploitation which are frequently used tools of war. In the long term, domestic violence can be further aggravated by armed conflict." Read More More than 1 in 4 women have experienced domestic violence in their lifetimes, global study finds "'Intimate partner violence affects the lives of millions of women, children, families and societies worldwide,' the study's senior author, Claudia García-Moreno, a WHO public health researcher, said in a statement. 'Although this study took place before the COVID-19 pandemic, the numbers are alarming and research has shown the pandemic exacerbated issues leading to intimate partner violence such as isolation, depression and anxiety, and alcohol use, as well as reducing access to support services,' she said, calling the need for solutions 'vital and urgent.'" Read More The history behind the first Black woman Supreme Court Justice nominee "President Joe Biden is nominating Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Jackson, who currently serves as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (...) is poised to become the first Black woman to serve on the nation's highest court." "Though Black women are underrepresented as judges in the nation's court system, Jackson's nomination marks the latest milestone in a history of Black women lawyers that dates back 150 years. For many, civil rights was a major motivation for practicing law. With this in mind, TIME asked historians what women paved the way for this moment." Read More Partner Spotlight Written by Jade Kim Trusso, Founder of Doorways Corporate Ambassador Nothing in Between LLC A nail salon is a place where people go to relax and nourish. For years, I've been studying the nail industry and the culture of nail salons then I noticed countless negative aspects of the industry, such as toxic ingredients, poor quality of nail products, and uncertain equipment sanitation. Not only for clients, but I also realized how harmful those negatives are for staff members. As a health-conscious individual, I wanted to reinvent the standard of nail salons for clients' well-being and environment in mind. My goal was to re-envision the nail & spa experience. On the other side, I've always hoped to help women and children with my business. A nail salon's majority of clients are women and it's a place where they take time to self-care. After opening a space for a better self-love experience, I decided to take a step further to help women and children in today's society. Having an intention to help them brought more efforts to improve Nothing In Between Studio until today. The name of our shop, Nothing In Between Studio, signifies the value of transparency. All the products we use during our services are quality-certified, natural, and non-toxic. Our atmosphere is calming, airy, inspiring, and clean. Our staffs are professional, well-trained, and caring. I highly pursue a moment when a client steps into our place, he/she will feel the difference through our care & intentionality. With all these contributions, I'm always ready to make a positive impact in our community and be encouraging to our society.
