President Biden Gives First State of the Union Address

Last night, President Biden gave an energizing speech as first State of the Union. He took the first 20 minutes to discuss the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and how we all #StandWithUkraine, before diving into topics like bringing back Senator Bennet's Child Tax Credit, ending cancer, expanding healthcare for our veterans, and bringing jobs back to the US.

Chair, Morgan Carroll stated:

“President Biden spoke proudly about the actions Democrats are taking to support all American people. He endorsed the Child Tax Credit from Senator Bennet, as well unions through the PRO act, touted the infrastructure coming to Colorado and all other states, promised aid for schools and teachers,  as well as promoted a $15 minimum wage and these energizing points were heard even over disruptors in the chamber.

We support and strive to achieve his vision of working together in unison to build a stronger county and state.

We also stand with his firm response to Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the Democrats of Colorado stand with Ukraine.”

SB22-013 Passed! What does that mean for you?

Gov. Polis signed SB22-013 into law --  but what does that mean and how does impact Coloradans? This bipartisan bill put forth by the Senate updates the boards and commissions statutes to include the new 8th Congressional District.

By adding an 8th Congressional District this also means a new CU Regent Seat, State Board of Education seat, and State Board of Education At Large Seat -- all of which will be up for election in 2022! 

The political majority of these boards will impact education and Colorado as a whole, meaning not only do we need to win the Congressional Seat for CD8 we have 3 other positions to fill as well!
