Primary Day is over and we are excited to move forward to the November election with Lizzie as the Democratic Nominee for TX-07.
We have a lot of work to do from here to November, but yesterday made clear how important it is that we work together until then to make sure we put our community and country on the right course forward.
Seeing the elections in Texas made clear the difference between candidates like Lizzie who have a hopeful and unifying message and those who seek to divide people across the state and the country.
Watching last night’s State of the Union address reinforced that message — and reinforced how important it is to elect people who will lead us in these difficult times.
Last night, President Biden rallied the world to stand up for democracy against Russian aggression, and for democracy here at home. He outlined his vision to grow the economy from the bottom up and middle out and lower costs for American families. It’s worth noting that this year we have had the fastest economic growth in nearly 40 years. But we know there is more to do to lower costs for American families — and Democrats are working to do just that. Of course, President Biden reminded us of the progress we have made fighting COVID-19 because of investments President Biden and Congressional Democrats have made. He also highlighted the need to defend our rights, protect our communities, and to unite as Americans around issues we agree on.
Just think of what we might have heard if House Democrats were not in the majority. We saw how important it is to hold the House.
