Ok, Patriots... chin up! I know we had a tough loss in the Primary. Whether you supported Huffines, West or Prather, we all are disappointed to see the strong win for Abbott. This is the part I dread about elections because inevitably I hear from activists, "I quit! We can't make a difference!" Wait! That's just not true. Yes, winning is great, but we all knew the Governor seat was a long shot. And whether we won that race or not, our mission today would still be the same. WE HOLD EVERY WINNER ACCOUNTABLE. At no time, ever, this side of heaven, is our job done. As I tell my government students, "There is always someone trying to steal your freedom." Let me show you this 1-min video one more time, as a reminder. Click to watch!
So we continue to train, we continue to educate, we continue to show up and fight. There's nothing the enemy would love more than for you to throw in the towel and give up. We will not give him that satisfaction! Still discouraged? Don't be. We lost the top seat, but we won some stellar races in counties all over the state, and we have the chance to win more in the runoffs. I don't have a complete list yet of all the wins and runoffs in all 30 counties featured on our website, but here are the statewide runoffs: TEXAS RUNOFF ELECTION MAY 16-20 EARLY VOTING / MAY 24 ELECTION DAY STATEWIDE RACES: Attorney General: PAXTON vs Bush Land Commissioner: Buckingham vs Westley RR Commissioner: CHRISTIAN vs Stogner A couple notes on those races...
- Obviously there is no way we're going to support any Bush, so Paxton is hands down our pick. We were never anti-Paxton when we supported Gohmert for Atty Gen, and we stated as such on our website. We just thought Gohmert was stronger. Now that Paxton is the one who made the runoff, we are fully in support of him to continue as our AG.
- You may or may not be aware of the gal who put Wayne Christian in a runoff. She literally exposed her naked body in public for all to see and stated she doesn't need "money" to win an election. It is an embarrassment to the state of Texas that she made it to the runoff, especially against a man as outstanding as Wayne Christian.
- That leaves the Land Commissioner race. Our Board was split on this race initially, so we will conduct an interview with Westley before weighing in. We had not interviewed him previously.
So that's my summary of the races. Big thank yous to all those who worked the polls, volunteered for campaigns, and donated to the cause of liberty! Keep up the good work, Julie McCarty Volunteer CEO PS. Heads up -- local elections for your ISD and city councils happen before the runoff! Watch our website for recommendations soon! |
