News from Representative Allred

March 2, 2022

Dear Friend,

Last night, President Biden delivered his State of the Union and reminded us of the progress we’ve made over the past year, laid out the challenges ahead, and rallied us together in the name of democracy and support for the Ukrainian people. While there is still so much more work to be done, it is clear that our nation is coming back strong.

I had the honor of delivering a response to President Biden’s State of the Union on behalf of the Congressional Black Caucus. I was raised by a single mother right here in North Texas. She worked as a public school teacher and I remember what it was like to struggle with the cost of groceries or the price of gas. Now as your Congressman, I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to work with President Biden to ensure that every American, no matter who you are or where you live, can have the opportunity to live their version of the American dream, just like I am doing now. It’s an honor to serve as a voice for the Black community and to represent all North Texans in Congress.

You can watch my full response to President Biden’s State of the Union here.

In President Biden’s first year in office, the economy recorded its fastest job growth in American history and the fastest economic growth in nearly 40 years. I am proud to have helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the most comprehensive investment in infrastructure in our country’s history, which will only fuel this incredible growth. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, federal funding is already headed to North Texas to repair our bridges, roads and highways, deliver high speed internet access to every home, and improve and expand our airports and public transportation systems, all while helping to mitigate the climate crisis and create good jobs.

Although we’ve made great strides over the past year in our economy and our recovery from the pandemic, I know North Texas families and businesses are still struggling. We are working to bring down everyday costs by fixing supply chain issues, making more items in America, creating good jobs, supporting small businesses and making it harder for corporations to ship jobs overseas.

Do you support action to lower everyday costs including the price of prescription drugs?

By participating in the survey you agree to receive periodic communications from Rep. Allred.

I was also encouraged to hear President Biden talk about one of my top priorities– lowering the price of prescription drugs, and health care costs. I support legislation that allows Medicare to negotiate the price of certain expensive drugs so that drug companies can no longer price gouge on life-saving medicines. I will keep working to get this done.

I hope you’ll take a moment and share your priorities with me by taking my survey. Your feedback helps guide my work in Congress on behalf of Texas’ 32nd District. It is an honor to serve North Texas, where I was born and raised.

Sincerely,
