John — Last night, President Biden delivered his first State of the Union Address, where he mentioned “care” 16 times and reaffirmed his commitment to invest in child care, paid leave, and home and community-based services (HCBS).

The speech outlined the challenges facing our country and put forth concrete steps we can take towards a brighter future for working people.

We have always been clear on how centering care and supporting care workers will help us build an economy that benefits everyone.

And though Congress continues to sit on a historic investment in care that will lift up working people of color who power our economy and our families, we are not giving up.

If you agree that Congress must do its part and step up for working people, sign the pledge to keep fighting for this much-needed investment in care and families [[link removed]] .

Family caregivers and care workers are beyond exhausted physically, emotionally and financially and have had to duct-tape together care for their children, older family members and loved ones with disabilities.

It doesn’t have to be this way, and it shouldn’t be this way.

The President’s plan to make a historic investment in the future of our care infrastructure has now been stalled in Congress for several months. This investment will provide much-needed relief for home care workers who have sacrificed so much throughout the pandemic and the families who depend on their care.

We have to keep educating the public and our elected leaders , and make clear that investing in HCBS will build a strong foundation for us to recover as well as create an economy that can support the needs of ALL in our country.

Show us that you’re still in this fight with us by signing the pledge today. [[link removed]]

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
