Folks, President Biden’s State of the Union speech has me fired up:

I couldn’t agree more! The Senate has to act: passing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act is our best chance at preserving our democracy so that no one is denied the right to vote.

Our fight is far from over: Will you chip in $15, $25, or anything you can to help power our grassroots campaign to protect the sacred right to vote? [[link removed]]

It’s been eight years since one of the most consequential Supreme Court decisions of our time: Shelby County v. Holder . This decision dismantled crucial parts of the Voting Rights Act and since, voter suppression across the country has surged with almost 400 restrictive bills introduced in 48 states .

Rather than standing with the many men and women who have sacrificed their lives to protect the sacred right to vote, Republicans are becoming the party of voter suppression.

President Biden’s continued support for protecting our fundamental right to vote is an example to all of us that democracy will always win out over oppression.

Preserving our democracy is my top priority. And the best way to do that is to make sure every vote counts.

I stand with President Biden and his dedication to uphold our rights, and I'm counting on you to stand with us. Will you chip in to help power our movement? [[link removed]]

In solidarity,

Terri Sewell
