Last night, President Biden showed why more than 81 million Americans voted for him in 2020. He gave a powerful, compassionate, strong, and deeply patriotic speech about the future of our country -- and I am proud to call him my president.

President Biden and congressional Democrats are hard at work building a better America. The American Rescue Plan created over 7 million jobs in 12 months, a historic feat that has helped restart the American economy. We've administered hundreds of millions of vaccines that got kids back in schools, businesses back open, and our country on the path towards recovery. Economic growth is at record highs and unemployment at record lows. We've made historic investments in American infrastructure, from our roads and public transit to green energy. And in the face of Russia's unprovoked aggression, we've led the world in a strong, level-headed, and steady response to defend Ukraine and our democratic ideals around the world.

President Biden wants to pass the Equality Act, protecting the LGBTQ+ community. President Biden wants to lower prescription drug prices and ensure every American family has access to affordable childcare. President Biden wants to invest in America by rebuilding our manufacturing base, allowing us to compete globally for the technology of the future. And President Biden wants to do more to combat the existential threat of climate change.

We have accomplished a lot in one short year -- but that doesn't mean our work is done. We must do more to build on the successes of President Biden's first year in office -- and that means expanding our majority in Congress.
