GIVE NOW to Strengthen America’s

Dear John,

During last night’s State of the Union speech, President Biden addressed the challenges facing millions of Americans, including the ever-rising prescription drug prices that plague workers and retirees. And he was right to keep urging Congress to pass prescription drug pricing reforms that will help give Americans relief from sky high drug costs.

According to the President, “Let’s cut the cost of prescription drugs. We pay more for the same drug produced by the same company than any other country in the world. And while we’re at it, let Medicare negotiate lower prices for prescription drugs, like the VA already does.”

But we continue to face a wall of opposition to commonsense drug pricing reforms by lawmakers who are, frankly, funded by Big Pharma. The drug industry knows how to throw their considerable weight around on Capitol Hill by showering lawmakers with hefty campaign contributions. And in turn many lawmakers do their bidding.

That’s why during this critical election year, voters like you must make it clear to the politicians in Washington that we expect them to fight for your interests and not the special interests. That includes acting to lower prescription drug prices and boosting Social Security now to meet the growing costs of growing old in America.

We should not have to fight to enact commonsense improvements for our most vulnerable citizens. But fight we will!

So please can I count on you to chip in a gift today in whatever amount you can safely afford to help us organize, mobilize and make our voices heard on Capitol Hill as we wage this fight for the future of Social Security and Medicare?

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
