Last night, I attended President Biden’s first State of the Union address. In his speech, he detailed some historic victories Democrats won last year, and reaffirmed our commitment to fighting for working families.

During year one, we passed the American Rescue Plan to deliver COVID-19 relief and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to rebuild our roads and bridges. President Biden oversaw record job growth and widespread vaccination efforts to help kickstart our pandemic recovery. And that was only the beginning.

There’s more work to be done. We must codify Roe v. Wade and defend reproductive freedom from unrelenting attacks. We must lower costs and barriers to accessing quality health care, uphold voting rights, cancel student loan debt, and so much more.

We proved that Democrats deliver, but defending our work and advancing our progressive priorities won’t be easy when we’re up against a Republican party willing to spend whatever it will take to win back control of the House.
