The current situation in Ukraine is on pace to result in the largest refugee crisis this century. More than 660,000 people have fled from Ukraine, half of them children. UNHCR estimates that over 4 million people could flee from Ukraine and seek protection and support across the region.
That’s why UNICEF is scaling up response efforts in the face of this increasing surge of children and families on the move. UNICEF plans to set up 26 “Blue Dot'' centers, which are strategically placed along border entry points in seven countries to provide emergency services to vulnerable families fleeing the conflict.

UNICEF launched Blue Dots in response during the refugee and migrant crisis of 2015-2016. Today, each hub can provide up to 5,000 people daily with psychosocial support and information, along with family tracing and reunification help for children separated from their families.
These efforts come as UNICEF works around the clock to extend humanitarian relief to the hardest-hit areas in Ukraine. As conflict devastates more of the civilian population, the delivery of health services and essential resources are needed more than ever.
