John,Yesterday, President Biden made his first State of the Union address. After years of climate denial, it was such a relief to hear a message centered on how taking climate action will be a net boon for the American economy and save the average American household hundreds of dollars annually in lower energy costs. This is the reality SEEC members have known for years, so we’re greatly pleased that this message was given a spotlight by President Biden last night.
In his address, the president celebrated the achievements his administration has made with the assistance of SEEC members, like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that will remove lead pipes, reduce wildfire risks, and reclaim abandoned mines, as well as investing in electric vehicle infrastructure, battery manufacturing, and grid modernization. He also made a call to action for Congress to pass transformational climate and clean energy policies without delay.
Our SEEC members hear that call to action. And they will continue to push for environmentally driven policies that will put our country on the path to a clean and sustainable energy future. John, we can be proud of these first-year accomplishments by the Biden administration and its plans for addressing the climate crisis for the next three years. And we expect the pace of important actions by the administration on climate to only grow from here.
But in order for the administration to keep playing offense on climate rather than defense, the president needs strong environmental allies in Congress. Show your support for SEEC members and their continued fight in Congress to pass transformational climate policies with a contribution today. [[link removed]]
