It may seem strange that we’re fighting so hard for a deadline in the middle of the month, nearly a year before the next election. There are many reasons for this, but one of the biggest is ensuring we project strength heading into 2020.

Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and Kevin McCarthy want us to appear exhausted. If we do, the narrative shifts away from their own brazen corruption and lawlessness and toward the thought that progressives don’t have it in them to fight back.

We can’t let that happen. And one of the ways we can show we’re ready for anything they throw at us is by posting the strongest grassroots fundraising numbers we can.
