Join us at 6:00 EST on Thursday March 3rd for a virtual Community Care space.

Friends –

We know it's been a really tough week, as trans youth and LGBTQ youth more broadly face terrible political attacks all across the South, from Texas to Alabama to Florida to South Carolina.

Even in the face of these cruel political attacks, we must be sure to center trans resilience and joy with the belief that embodying hope in a world that tells us we don’t deserve the most basic of human rights is not only an essential piece of community care, but also protest.

The Campaign for Southern Equality will host a virtual Community Care space on Thursday, March 3 at 6:00pm ET. ([link removed]) We will open the space with some centering and grounding exercises, hold space for each other to share our experiences in this difficult time, share tools and resources related to resilience, and above all center trans hope and possibility. Please click here to learn more and RSVP for the special event. ([link removed])

The event will be hosted by our Director of Healing & Resilience Holiday Simmons, Community Health Program Director Ivy Hill, and Southern Equality Fund Manager Wynston Sanders.

This space is open to trans and queer youth, adults, and our allies who are joining with us in this political fight, because we believe we are stronger when we come together as one community in solidarity with one another. Please feel free to share the event with your friends, family, and others who are in this fight to protect and support trans youth across the South. ([link removed])

Thank you,
The Campaign for Southern Equality Team

P.S. Are you a trans youth in Texas or the family of a trans youth in Texas – or do you know any families of trans youth in Texas? Please spread the word about an emergency grant round that we opened this week ([link removed]) to support families in crisis because of the anti-transgender actions from the Attorney General and governor. And if you don't live in Texas but want to support these grants, click here to make a donation. ([link removed])

P.P.S. Want to center trans joy in your wardrobe? Check out a new series of designs we've launched this week – and get them printed on a shirt, hat, tote, or more. ([link removed]) All proceeds will benefit the Texas emergency fund.
