Governor John Bel Edwards has put forth an Executive Budget Proposal that is sure to have a positive impact on the state of Louisiana for generations to come. The budget makes a significant investment in our infrastructure, education at every level, and ensures that Louisianans will not have to bear the burden of the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Check out some highlights of the proposal below:

  • $550 million to replenish the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund
  • $500 million for a new Baton Rouge bridge
  • $500 million for water and sewer projects
  • $148.4 million for K-12 teacher and staff pay raises
  • $100 million for the Lake Charles I-10 Bridge
  • $100 million for the I-49 Lafayette Connector
  • $60 million for rural bridges
  • $43.3 million for Early Childhood Education
  • $31.7 million for higher education faculty raises 
  • $17 million for LA-4 Early Childhood Program
