Last night, President Biden put forward a record of accomplishment and a
vision for the country that we can all be immensely proud of.
Amid a global pandemic, economic recession, and the immense task of
rebuilding from the Trump years, the progress the President and our
Democratic majority have made in the past year is nothing short of
extraordinary.
In a minute, I'm going to break down those accomplishments in a longer
email than usual, as well as the work that lies ahead to put working
families first. But first, I have to ask: [ [link removed] ]Can you contribute
$3 or any amount to our campaign today to help us power the
necessary organizing for our progressive agenda, to protect our Democratic
majority, and to elect more strong progressives to Congress this year?

What does the progress that President Biden touted last night look like?
* The American Rescue Plan, which led to the biggest yearly job growth
in history, creating more than six million jobs
* Higher wages and the lowest unemployment rate since 1969
* The only advanced economy with its GDP at pre-pandemic levels
* 4.2 million more people with health insurance than last year
* The child tax credit lowering hunger across the country by 32 percent
and cutting child poverty in half
* Taking on big corporate monopolies that are increasing costs and
killing small businesses
* Restoring many of our foreign alliances
But as you and I both know — now comes the work to
continue this progress. The challenges that families faced before the
pandemic are still with us, and Congress must make real strides in the
promises we made to the American people.
We must pass legislation to lower the costs of pre-K, health care,
home-based care, housing, and child care — all by finally making the
wealthy and corporations pay their fair share. And we can't wait any
longer to take meaningful action to address the climate crisis and deliver
a roadmap to citizenship for immigrant communities.
President Biden has significant power to effect immediate, meaningful
change for people across America, and he should use it aggressively.
Through executive authority, he can bring down the costs of prescription
drugs, decrease carbon emissions to fight the climate crisis, cancel
student debt, protect workers' rights, raise wages, provide immigration
relief, and rebuild our refugee system.
And as President Biden said, "capitalism without competition is
exploitation" — now more than ever, we must continue to take on corporate
profiteering and monopolistic abuse with every tool we have if we're going
to make progress on all these important issues.
It's crystal clear: Democrats in the White House and Congress have shown
how much we can accomplish in a year. And I believe if we remain committed
to providing relief our communities need, lowering costs, and making life
easier for working people — we can deliver.

It's an honor to know you're fighting alongside me. Thank
