Happy Women's History Month, John!

I'm closing in on my first 100 days as president of the National Partnership for Women & Families - I want to thank you for your support in welcoming me into this critical role. 

I cannot think of any other work that I would rather be doing at this moment when the stakes are so high for women and families across the country. 

From relentless attempts to ban access to safe reproductive health and abortion care ... to a worsening Black maternal health crisis ... to a devastating disruption to the job market, overwhelming caregiving pressures, and a crumbling care infrastructure that have reversed years of gains for women in the workplace.    
  
The battles we fight today and the progress and protections that we secure will help determine how freely and fully women of this generation and the next can live. We have no intention of backing down from what we know is right.

I was pleased to hear President Biden address essential solutions in his State of the Union address, including passing the Paycheck Fairness Act and paid leave, investing in essential caregiving and care worker supports, and putting workers and their families ahead of corporations. 

The National Partnership will not stop fighting for these changes and more. We will not stop fighting to transform the structures of sexism and racism that have long been ingrained in the fabric of our country.

Our task now is to elevate an inclusive agenda that centers women - especially women and people of color who experience discrimination on multiple levels, including race, gender, disability, and sexual orientation - as key drivers of the nation's overall health and economic success.
